The legal battle of Ward Churchill, the controversial former University of Colorado professor, was expected to continue Thursday before the Colorado Supreme Court.
Churchill, fired nearly five years ago after he called some victims of the 2001 terrorist attacks “little Eichmanns,” a reference to the Nazi leader, still wants his old job back, reports the Associated Press.
The Colorado Supreme Court was slated to hear oral arguments Thursday in the case, in which it must decide whether an investigation conducted by the school violated the professor’s First Amendment rights, the report said. The court will also weigh whether the university’s Board of Regents has immunity from lawsuits.
As the case has worked its way through the Colorado court system, Law Blog has covered it here, here and here.
